Freedom to Read Week is February 26 to March 3, 2012

Libraries play a critical role in defending the freedom to read. Defending intellectual freedom is one of the foundations of librarianship.

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes the freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”
